Muhammad (Arabic: محمد) (c. 5708 June 632), full name: Muhammad Ibn Abdullah Ibn Abd al-Muttalib, was a political, military, and religious leader. Muslim religious belief holds that he is the Seal of the prophets, and that the Qur'an is the message of Allah revealed to him by the angel Jibreel (Gabriel). Archaic spellings of his name in English include: Mohammed, Muhammed, and Mahomet.

Why do Muslims hold the Prophet Muhammad as a more important figure than Jesus?
Q. With all do respect to those of Islamic faith. This is a genuine question, I am just trying to see it from your perspective. Your faith accepts that Jesus was a Messiah(not God the father incarnate) born of a virgin. Muhammad founded Islam & brought the Quran to the people. I'm a little confused by this point of view. What was God's purpose of having Jesus born of a virgin? How is Jesus perceived in Islam? Why is Muhammad more important than Jesus?

They reject all of the New Testament, and only hold to the old...yet there are hundreds of prophecies in the old testament that Jesus literally fulfilled through His birth to His Ascension. The reason they do not hold Jesus as important as Muhammad is because they do not want to accept Jesus for who He is. This is the whole crutch behind Muhammad writing the Qu'ran. This the whole crutch behind Joseph Smith and others that have written their own "holy books". It all centers around rejecting Jesus Christ for who He really is, God manifest in the… [cont.]
